A Home Away From Home!

Speed Skating Canada has selected the John MS Lecky UBC Boathouse as the location for Speed Skating Canada House (SSC House), a home away from home for family and friends of our speed skating Olympians. The John MS Lecky UBC Boathouse, established by the University of British Columbia in partnership with St. George's School and the City of Richmond, is home to the UBC Rowing Program.

SSC House is a warm and welcoming gathering place where Canada's speed skating family can celebrate, share experiences and connect with others during the Games.

Speed Skating Canada House will officially open its doors on February 12, 2010.

During the Games, access to Speed Skating Canada House will be restricted. Accreditation and/or tickets are required to gain entry. Click here for information on how to obtain an accreditation.

Can't be at the venue?
Gather at SSC House to watch live coverage of the Olympics, including Opening and Closing Ceremonies and all speed skating events taking place February 13th through 18th, February 20th and 21st, February 23rd and 24th, and February 26th and 27th.

Consult the SSC House Daily Events Schedule for a full listing of events being broadcast at SSC House.

All victory ceremonies where Canadian speed skaters are being recognized will also be broadcast live.

True Sport Lives Here As a committed member of the True Sport Movement , SSC is pleased to operate SSC House as a True Sport facility, ensuring an environment that promotes a healthy fair, inclusive and fun sporting experience for all participants.
