Here's an opportunity to own an original piece of Canadian art and support Speed Skating Canada's Inuksuk Legacy Fund.

Speed Skating Canada is pleased to display the work of various Canadian artists who have created pieces that showcase the dynamics, power and elegance of the sport of speed skating. The artwork, featuring artists from all over Canada, will be auctioned during the Games and reproductions of certain pieces (posters, cards) will be available for sale

Beginning February 15th . on line bids for 14 original works of art by four Canadian artists will be SOLD through a silent auction ending on February 25th at Speed Skating Canada House. On line bids can be placed at (add link here) or at any of the following locations: Speed Skating Canada House, Richmond City Hall and the Aberdeen Mall.

The Artists

Fourteen artists from the Greater Vancouver Area were invited to participate in the selection process. Four artists were selected by a jury to exhibit and sell their work through the silent auction. Prints are available for purchase at the Speed Skating Canada House boutique located at the Aberdeen Mall.

Proceeds of the sale of the original art work as well as the reproductions will go to the Inuksuk Legacy Fund for development of the great sport of speed skating in Canada.

Live Auction

In addition to the silent art auction, a live auction on February 25th will be held at Speed Skating Canada House . Items for auction include an Inuksuk speed skating statue, a number of flat screen televisions, equipment used at SSCH during the Games and special Olympic memorabilia. All proceeds will go to the Inuksuk Legacy Fund for development of the great sport of speed skating in Canada.
